Inductive sensors serve for non-contacting detection of metallic objects. The sensor principle of an inductive sensor makes use of the influence of metals on electromagnetic alternating fields. The presence or absence of metallic objects in a determined distance from the sensor is monitored or an analog output signal is produced.

Capacitive sensors are suitable for detecting almost all materials, from metal to plastic and from liquids to bulk material. The sensor effect is based on evaluating a change of capacity by approximation of an object.

Piros infrared sensors and pyrometers detect the infrared radiation coming from hot material and convert it into an electrical signal. Piros light barriers serve for material monitoring and object detection. Piros sensors are applied where other sensors cannot be used because of the high radiation or ambient temperatures i. e. in steel and rolling mills or for material detection in furnaces.

Proxitron flow controller monitor the flow velocity of liquid or gaseous media. In an encased casing a heating resistance produces slight temperature increase. The cooling effect of the flow is evaluated electronically. The calorimetric measuring principle is operating without any wear and requiring little maintenance.

Proxitron products with extra characteristics or for special applications. Sensors with programmed output signals for sample recognition, event counting, impulse extension, locking, rotational speed or standstill monitoring. Special sensor for filling level monitoring. External evaluation devices. Accessory
